The final weeks

I don't use Flikr, but it looks good, I use photobox to share photos and then print from them and have tried Picassa too, think I'll stick with what I have been doing though as it works for me

I'm a facebook addict, so the week on social networking was an easy one for me...

Skype is great, I've used it to supervise students when they are away on Erasmus or can't travel for meetings, and the IM feature is a great way to pose a question as they are talking to keep the conversation flowing...

Doodle is great I've known about it for a while but I don't use it enough

Google docs I have used to collaborate with co-authors in the UK and Australia, but the formatting does funny things. I'd like to try a cloud computing site to use as a semi external hard drive need to follow up on one a colleague suggested.

Hopefully I'll catch up on the last few things before term starts and I hope to integrate some of them into my teaching

Happy New Year!

My iGoogle page!

I've created my iGoogle page, which was relatively easy to do and really brings everything together.
One question though, I wanted to get the RSS feeds from Journals as they are published, but they are coming up as permanent boxes of static text, is it possible that they appear as they are published?
The other thing I'm going to try to do now is link this blog to my iGoogle page so I can see if anyone is actually out there reading it... ;-)

Wonderful world of podcasts!

I can't believe how much really useful stuff is out there! and on iTunes no less!
I have just found an excellent podcast from Oxford Medical school talking about research ethics, a topic I taught our 4th years at the start of semester.

http://http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=381704186

That took a while to work out how to get the link to here - on iTunes I did copy link then had to click the link button here to get it to then paste it in....

Explaining Web 2.0 - Embedding a video

Hope this works and we get a video explaining Web 2, that is very good, but a bit long to really hold your attention

My first blog post!

So I'm starting 23Things a little late, having first settled into a new term with new modules and all that goes with it. I've also been focused on getting a grant application in - so now that's all done I have no excuses and am looking forward to seeing how this can all make life easier in the long run!
